wifey got the 2023 top trim of this for a rental and after a single drive she handed the keys to me so she could drive my rustbucket ancient mazda 3 bk sedan instead. She said she felt unsafe because of how disconnected the ride felt from the road. After I got to drive it too, I must say I really dislike the direction new cars have taken. Inside feels too isolated makes you wanna fall asleep if traffic is boring. That Ford escape looked pretty but she was right--it did not spark joy where it most counts--when in motion. Felt like a lethargic imprecise obese vehicle. The tech was dissatisfactory too--a knob that feels yuck to turn for a gear selector, a tiny button for a parking brake, car stops and engine keeps turning off at all the red lights, all the vent controls in the touch screen some so far away, a washed out reverse camera and skewed and distorted birds eye camera when reversing. The button placements for music controls on the steering wheel was split up for some reason. All of this was infuriating. Just a lot of dumb design decisions. Absolutely not worth the price they are demanding. I will hold on to my early 2000s-2010s era sedans and suvs for now until I find something newer where the practicality and driving dynamics doesn't suck.

Great comparison! After watching this I'm still torn between the two but am leaning towards the Genesis for the styling and trunk space! You cannot fit 2 large suitcases and carry ons in the Audi as the trunk curves in. However, Audi has 2.49% financing on now which compared to the Genesis at 5.9% is making the decision hard... as thats hundreds of dollars more in my pocket each month.

Why cant the top PHEV CX-90 get the 12 in touch screen offered in the tubro s model, or lane keeping assistance (CTS). That is a big miss IMHO. Any word if they will add those features to the PHEV trim in Canada? Looks like there was also a stop sale on the Grand highlander today due to safety issues.

Every reviewer complains about the fact there are just two window buttons. In my current 6 year old Honda with four buttons I can’t remember the last time I needed to open the rear windows. I have probably done it more by accident than intentional. I actually prefer just the two buttons.

You try to crap on this as a track car when just a couple years ago this was 7 seconds faster than the Porsche GT3 RS on the track. It also walks all over an R8 at the track. You're telling lies. These UA-cam reviewers are outright criminals who are in bed with Hyundai.. based on their reviews I got a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe. So many issues and finally had to replace my engine only at 86000 kms. Almost stopped in the middle of the highway. Toyota is far more reliable. Hyundai is cheap plastic crap. They spend so much time on looks. Their engines are horrible toys for children to play with. Never buy a Hyundai.

And where are you finding these level three chargers because it is easier to find a needle in a haystack. I've never found a level three charger yet for my Mercedes, yet. I hear about them, but it becomes like an urban legend.

Overpriced American cars will tank the industry....Chinese vehicles will start to flood into this country illegally..and nobody will care. They will simply drive them across the border and sell them illegally in used car markets across the country. Americans/illegal migrants will gladly buy these cheap cars and trucks. I actually just bought, well leased, the Kona Electric top-trim here in Australia it even came with a spare tire(space saver) as my second EV, first was the original classic 28kWh Ioniq. Great comparison guys. I'm totally with you about buttons, not overdone on buttons as some cars can be but the Kona is a good balance. The ID.4 has that huge panoramic sunroof and in summer hate to think how much heat goes through that whereas the Kona has a normal sunroof that opens and has a cover to close it off from the sun. The other thing in the ID.4 is the questionable software from VW. When did Canada come out with their own efficiency rating I always remember using EPA growing up which is the closest to real world of all the testing schemes whereas NEDC/CLTC are off in fairy-land and WLTP is still in fairyland but less so and EPA is closest to real world that I"ve seen. The ID.4 or any MEB platform car are not available yet in Australia beyond the Cupra Born which is the better ID.3.
